HEADTURNED Innovation / Workspace
Bring meaningful work together.
HEADTURNED Workspace is governed infrastructure for connecting people, knowledge and evidence around work that matters.
It is being built to reduce fragmentation across organisations, disciplines and disconnected systems without sacrificing appropriate privacy, responsibility or control.

Why it matters
Important work is too often separated from the knowledge and people it needs.
Across the world, useful work is taking place inside universities, charities, public bodies, businesses, communities and independent teams. Yet the surrounding evidence and expertise are frequently divided between email, folders, separate organisations and systems that were never designed to work together.
HEADTURNED Workspace is not intended to be generic project-management software. Its wider purpose is to create a dependable environment in which related work can connect while participation and private information remain governed.
- Conservation and rewilding
- Species stewardship
- Marine biology and marine science
- Biodiversity and ecological restoration
- Sustainable food systems
- Field research and land management
- Environmental innovation
- Interdisciplinary partnerships
These are examples of where the capability can be useful, not limits on the work it may support.
How the work fits together
A clear place for the work and the people around it.
A Workspace provides the governed environment. Projects define the work. Teams bring together people who may contribute across several Projects. A Workspace can contain multiple Projects and multiple Teams.
Workspace
Where work is organised and governed
Project
What people are working on
A defined piece of work with its own Lead, participants, Teams and governed lifecycle.
Team
Who works together
A group of people inside the Workspace that can contribute to more than one Project.
Projects can involve Teams and individual participants. Association never removes the need for deliberate, governed participation.
Workspace capability
Related work should share context without becoming one undifferentiated system.
A Workspace can bring together related people, Projects, Teams and Organisations. It provides a common operating context while allowing individual Projects to retain their own purpose, leadership, participants and lifecycle.
Workspaces
A governed environment around related work, people and organisations. It replaces fragmentation with shared context, not unrestricted access.
Organisations can provide relevant governance and context, but the public story remains centred on the work being undertaken.
Projects
Defined pieces of work inside a Workspace, such as a species recovery programme, marine monitoring study, habitat restoration project, field survey or sustainable-food research programme.
Each Project can have a Lead, individual participants, attached Teams and a governed lifecycle.
Teams
Groups of people inside a Workspace. A Team is not a Project: it can contribute to several Projects, while Projects can also include individual participants directly.
Trust and participation
Connected does not mean public.
Workspaces are governed environments. Participation is deliberate, access is protected and work does not become public merely because it exists inside the HEADTURNED Ecosystem.
Account, identity and security controls help protect the people and work involved. Private Projects and Workspace information remain private unless selected material is deliberately shared through an appropriate future mechanism.
Within the wider Ecosystem
Practical infrastructure for work that crosses boundaries.
Workspace is a capability within the HEADTURNED Ecosystem, not a separate standalone product. It provides practical infrastructure through which people, Projects, Teams and Organisations can work together around legitimate Ecosystem activity.
Separate by design
HEADTURNED PPV
PPV is the separate creator, publishing and commerce platform. People may later choose to take selected stories or work to PPV, but nothing moves or publishes automatically.
- No automatic transfer or publication.
- No automatic account linking.
- No automatic exposure of private Projects or Workspaces.
HEADTURNED Workspace
Better connections can make useful work more capable.
We are building the governed environment needed to connect people, knowledge and practical work across the HEADTURNED Ecosystem.
