HEADTURNED Sanctuary

A safe place, a safe space, and a forever home. The Sanctuary will sit at the epicentre of the HEADTURNED Foundation, alongside the Innovation Hub and Vertical Farming campus – a living heart where animals, humans, and ecosystems can begin again.

More than a sanctuary

The Sanctuary is where compassion and design meet. It will welcome domestic animals, wildlife, and farm animals of all kinds – mammals, birds, and even the smallest insects – with spaces designed for nurture, rehabilitation, rewilding, fostering, and adoption.

This isn't an isolated site. It sits at the centre of a 5,000-acre blueprint: a Sanctuary connected to the Innovation Hub, Vertical Farms, and education spaces. Every decision we take – from habitat layout to veterinary tech – flows through one lens: what we do next can change everything.

A place the world can visit

In time, we plan to open Patreon-style visiting centres and walk-arounds, where people can see the work, meet the animals, and understand the systems that support them. Not as a spectacle, but as a living, breathing example of what care can look like.

What the Sanctuary stands for

A forever place for healing, not just holding.

Care & Rehabilitation

Veterinary support, calm spaces, and patient care for animals arriving from neglect, injury, or crisis.

Rewilding & Release

Where possible, animals will be prepared for safe release into restored habitats on-site and with partners globally.

Fostering & Adoption

A lifetime safety net. If an animal ever becomes vulnerable again, the HEADTURNED Sanctuary will take them back, without judgement.

Community & Learning

Guided walk-arounds, Patreon-style visits, and educational programs that help people reconnect with nature.

Dogs as family

No cages. No kennels. One pack.

The dog sanctuary will be built around one simple promise: they are family. Not inventory, not cases, not numbers.

Dogs at the Sanctuary won't live behind bars. They'll live as a pack; with safe sleeping spaces, structured routines, and daily pack-walks that rebuild trust, confidence, and joy.

Every new arrival will have their own story, and we plan to document each journey – from the moment they first step onto the land, through rehabilitation, and, where possible, into a new home. This will form part of an ongoing documentary series shared through HEADTURNED Insights and HEADTURNED PPV (read more).

For the dogs who cannot be rehomed, the Sanctuary becomes exactly that: a safe, stable, forever family built around their needs.

For every animal, of every kind

If they can't be rehomed, this is their forever home.

The HEADTURNED Sanctuary exists as a final safety net. If any animal – domestic, wild, or farm – cannot be safely rehomed, they will stay with us. No time limits. No expiry dates. The land, the habitats, and the routines will be built around their needs for as long as they live.

And if an animal leaves the Sanctuary through adoption or fostering and ever finds themselves vulnerable again, our duty of care does not end at the gate. The HEADTURNED Sanctuary will always take them back – immediately, without judgement, without questions as to why. This is our promise.

Care, backed by innovation

An internal veterinary clinic, powered by the Innovation Hub.

The Sanctuary won't stand alone. It will be supported by an internal veterinary clinic and the full power of the HEADTURNED Innovation Hub.

Our goal is to provide the highest standard of care we can. That means on-site diagnostics, surgery, and long-term treatment plans – supported by the latest medicine and technologies.

The Innovation Hub will explore advanced solutions such as custom prosthetics, mobility aids, sensor-driven monitoring, and climate-controlled recovery spaces, built around the animals we care for.

As we grow, these learnings won't stay on the land. We want to share protocols, designs, and open knowledge with sanctuaries and clinics worldwide, so a single site can ripple out into global change.

Beyond one piece of land

A sanctuary with a global footprint.

The Sanctuary may begin on a single site, but its purpose is bigger. We want it to act as a reference point for sanctuaries, rescues, and community projects around the world – a place where ideas are tested, refined, and then shared openly.

Global collaboration

Partner with existing sanctuaries, rescues, and charities to exchange knowledge, tools, and training.

Open learning

Share blueprints, layouts, and systems openly so others can adapt what works in their own regions.

Stories that travel

Use media, Insights, and PPV to tell stories that inspire support and action far beyond the sanctuary fences.

How you can help

Help us build a place where every arrival gets a real second chance.

The Sanctuary will only be possible with support; from individuals, sponsors, and partners who believe that animals and ecosystems deserve more than the minimum. Donations will help us build habitats, fund veterinary care, and support the day-to-day work of looking after those who arrive.
